Tabitha A. Burks, the esteemed Founder and First President of Tau Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. A visionary leader and dedicated advocate for service, education, and empowerment, Tabitha has left an indelible mark on our organization and the communities we serve.

A native of McComb, Mississippi, Tabitha was born on October 27, 1982, and continues to reside in her hometown. She is a 2001 graduate of McComb High School and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Juvenile Justice from the University of Southern Mississippi. Furthering her commitment to education and personal growth, she earned Master’s degrees in Counseling and Education Administration from Prairie View A&M University.

Professionally, Tabitha is a dedicated Mental Health Therapist for Canopy Children's Solutions, where she provides vital support to youth and families. Her passion for entrepreneurship has also led her to successfully establish two businesses:

  • An Online Children's Boutique

  • A Sweet & Savory Treat Business

In 2012, Tabitha founded Tau Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, driven by her commitment to sisterhood, scholarship, and service. As the organization's First President, she played a pivotal role in laying the foundation for the values and mission that continue to guide our sisterhood today.

Tabitha’s dedication to service extends beyond her own organization, as she is also a proud member of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc..

In addition to her professional achievements and leadership, Tabitha is a devoted mother of three, balancing her many roles with grace and determination.
